More About Me

I have a BA in sociology with a minor in political science from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Social Work degree from Catholic University in Washington DC. I spent eight years living in Washington DC where I worked at the national headquarters of the American Red Cross. After working in grant management at Red Cross, I was drawn to graduate school by my desire to help others and work with individuals in a more direct way. After moving to California in 2012 and taking some time off to be with my kiddos, I spent three and half years at the Department of Veteran Affairs working with veterans who were experiencing homelessness or were at risk of becoming homeless. More recently I was a psychotherapist in the integrated behavior department at PAMF Sutter health in Santa Cruz. In my private practice I am truly inspired by the bravery of those working toward wellness. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to podcasts, going to the beach, cooking, and running.
